We are now accepting Requests for Bid on the Stoney Creek Streambank Stabilization Project.

The Stoney Creek Streambank Stabilization Project is a vital ecological restoration effort focused on improving stream health and stability. This project involves the strategic removal of invasive plant species that have overtaken the streambank, causing erosion and threatening native biodiversity. In their place, carefully selected native plants will be introduced to restore the natural habitat, stabilize the soil, and enhance water quality. These native species are well-adapted to the local environment, providing critical benefits such as improved filtration of runoff, increased habitat for wildlife, and reduced erosion. By restoring the natural vegetation along Stoney Creek, this project aims to create a healthier, more resilient stream ecosystem while fostering long-term environmental benefits for the surrounding community.

By prioritizing natural methods over hard armoring techniques like riprap or retaining walls, the project not only protects the streambank but also promotes ecological balance. This approach supports local wildlife, improves downstream water quality, and provides a sustainable, long-term solution to streambank degradation.
